Library Programs - GED and other Tutoring Programs

The Lyell Branch Library and the Maplewood Community Library hold classes to help patrons prepare to take the GED exam. Abel Cin Zam, pictured below, is a Burmese refugee who recently earned his GED after participating in the program at Maplewood.

These free GED classes are held at the Lyell Branch Library, 956 Lyell Ave., Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. and at Maplewood Community Library, 1111 Dewey Ave., Monday through Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Many branch libraries have Literacy Aides who read with children, help them with homework and play educational games with them after school. Please call your local library branch for more details.
