Celebrate the 12th edition of the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival, featuring musicians gathered from around the world to perform in more than 250 concerts!
From legendary performers and familiar favorites - to rising stars and new discoveries - this is a festival that navigates all genres of creative improvised music from all corners of the world.
As one of the nation's leading international music festivals, it brings together unique musical sounds from many countries, highlighting international artists' take on the only true American art form - jazz.
The Festival's European style makes it the place to meet! With many streets closed the lively and vibrant ambiance makes it a destination for friends to connect, discuss favorite music, and enjoy a bite to eat.
The diversity of 19 venues(the Little Theatre has been added as a new Club Pass venue), all located within walking distance in and around Rochester's east end cultural district, ranges from elegant concert halls to intimate clubs to vibrant outdoor stages. Each offers a comfortable setting in which to appreciate and savor the many genres of creative improvised music, all under the auspices of jazz.
Nightly jam sessions are another highlight, since there's no telling who will drop in to play. It's said that jazz never sleeps and this event proves it as the music goes on deep into the night - often with unsung musicians who electrify the room.
