 (Friday, Feb. 18, 2011) — The City of Rochester Bureau of Recreation’s Community and Recreation Centers are offering a variety of activities for city youth during the coming Winter Recess week (Feb. 20-27). These activities include:

Tuesday, February 22:

Hike on the El Camino Trail. El Camino Trail Park, corner of Clifford Ave. and Conkey Ave. at 1 p.m. Bring the family to look for birds, wildlife tracks, and other signs on nature right in the city. (Parents must accompany their children.) Snowshoes will be available, weather permitting. Part of the Winter Adventures series (www.cityofrochester.gov/winteradventures).
Jiu-Jitsu with Dr. Kamae. Adams Street Community Center, 85 Adams St. 4-5:30 p.m.
Black History Storytelling with Gloria Langston, Edgerton Community Center, 41 Backus St., 1 p.m.
Wednesday, February 23:

Hike in Genesee Valley Park. Meet at the Genesee Valley Park Waterways Center/Ice Rink parking lot, Elmwood Ave., at 1 p.m. Bring the family to look for birds, wildlife tracks, and other signs on nature right in the city. Parents must accompany their children. Snowshoes will be available, weather permitting. Part of the Winter Adventures series (www.cityofrochester.gov/winteradventures).
Black History Bingo Contest. South Avenue Community Center, 990 South Ave., 5:30-7:30 p.m.
3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, David F. Gantt Community Center, 700 North St., 1-5 p.m.
African American Food Tasting. Flint Street Community Center, 271 Flint St., 4-6 p.m.
Read-A-Thon. Edgerton Community Center, 41 Backus St., 6 p.m.
Thursday, February 24:

Friday, February 25:
