Pre-Registration Available for NFL’s Punt, Pass and Kick Program

(Tuesday, September 16, 2014) – The City’s Bureau of Recreation is seeking kids ages 6 to 15 years-old to take part in a local qualifier for the “Punt, Pass, & Kick” program, to be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24 at East High School, 1801 E. Main St.

The Punt, Pass & Kick program, now in its 53rd year, is a nation-wide competition for boys and girls sponsored by the National Football League (NFL) that allows kids to experience the fun of learning football fundamentals in an engaging and supportive non-contact environment.

To pre-register, visit any R-Center (visit www.cityofrochester.gov/fallrec for locations) or register on the day of the event beginning at 4:45 p.m. at East High School. Youth must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and bring proof of age in order to register. Parents and families are encouraged to cheer on their young football ‘stars to be’ during the competition.

Youth will be grouped in the following five age categories:
• Ages 6 to 7 (born in 2007 and 2008)
• Ages 8 to 9 (born in 2005 and 2006)
• Ages 10 to 11 (born in 2003 and 2004)
• Ages 12 to 13 (born in 2001 and 2002)
• Ages 14 to 15 (born in 1999 and 2000)
Qualifying athletes in each of the age divisions will advance to the regional event to be held in October.
