City of Rochester

News Release

(Wednesday, January 6, 2021) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren will unveil her 2021 State of the City featuring the Equity and Recovery Agenda, a series of proposals to address the challenges and inequities facing our community.

The public can view the presentation and agenda beginning tomorrow, Thursday, January 7 at 7:00 P.M. at cityofrochester.gov/sotc2021 and on the City’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

“We don’t promise equal outcomes, but everyone should have an equal opportunity to succeed. President Obama shared that vision with our nation and it holds true for our city as well,” said Mayor Warren. “Fulfilling this promise is at the heart of the Equity and Recovery Agenda. It’s my vision for building a just and equitable community for everyone. Where every child and family has a fighting chance to achieve their dreams.”

Mayor Warren encourages the community to review the proposals in the ERA agenda, and to share their proposals and ideas as well, to create a collaborative effort to recover from the pandemic and the inequities it has laid bare.

“The new era of recovery and equity must involve our entire community,” shared Mayor Warren. “I welcome the discussions and additional ideas that these proposals will inspire. I truly hope that my fellow elected officials, community and faith leaders and residents will embrace this opportunity.”
