(Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023) – The City of Rochester Public Market invites market shoppers and community members to celebrate National Farmers Market Week at the City of Rochester Public Market on Saturday, Aug. 12. Staff, vendors, and market visitors will celebrate this national awareness week with shopping opportunities from hundreds of local vendors and farmers, and a special homegrown corn giveaway beginning at 10 a.m. in the Nutrition Education Center, located in the enclosed B Shed.

The first 1,000 shoppers can enjoy freshly cooked, free samples of homegrown, local corn, grown with love by Public Market farmers. Thanks to the Friends of the Rochester Public Market and Flower City Produce for financially supporting this event.

Farmers Market Week is an annual celebration across the United States, this year from Aug. 6–12, 2023. It’s a week dedicated to recognizing that farmers markets are vital to our communities, serving as vibrant spaces for gathering, local commerce, and culture.
