Durand Eastman Beach on Lake Ontario hosted almost 120,000 visits last summer! The beach, on Lakeshore Drive (map), is part of Durand Eastman Park, one of Rochester area's four-season natural gems. The beach boasts 5,000 feet of Lake Ontario waterfront; the Park also features steep wooded slopes, valleys, scenic vistas, small lakes, spring flowering trees and wildlife including swans, turkeys, and fox; and spectacular fall foliage colors.
Swimming is supervised by beach guards in its designated area (Lot A). All staff are trained in lifesaving, First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Parking and Transportation
Parking is now FREE in Durand Beach parking lots A and B, from 8 am to 8 pm.

Essential Rules
Never swim alone.
No beach balls or flotation devices.
Never use drugs or alcohol when swimming.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Grills, fires, and glass containers are not allowed on the beach.
Animals must be leashed at all times.
