Cool Down with Cool Sweep Presented by RG&E

Cool Sweep logo

Cool Sweep presented by RG&E is the City’s annual public safety and customer service program to help city residents who have limited opportunities to find relief from summer heat. Cool Sweep kicks off once schools let out for summer recess.

When the temperature rises above 85 degrees, the Cool Sweep program goes into effect with extended hours at pools, spray parks, “cooling centers” at select libraries and R-Centers, the Genesee Valley Park Pool and Durand Eastman Beach, and a cooling spray from fire hydrants in select locations.
