The historic center boasts fascinating history. The Rochester Royals (now the Sacramento Kings) won the 1951 NBA Championship at the Edgerton Arena. The Center also became the home of the Edgerton Model Railroad room in 1951, when former Governor Thomas E. Dewey drove a miniature golden spike into the tracks. The elegant Stardust Ballroom hosts a ballroom dance series each year and is available to rent for formal functions. Most recently, the Center added a state-of-the-art outdoor water spray park.
