City of Rochester

News Release

(Friday, Oct. 20, 2023) – Join Rochester Animal Services for the pet friendliest Halloween event of the season at the inaugural Howl-a-ween Adoption Pawty, 3:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 184 Verona St.

Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in their best Halloween costumes. Face masks should be avoided or removed to avoid frightening shelter pets. Families can participate in Halloween festivities, trick-or-treating for children and enjoy light refreshments. Shelter dogs and cats will be available for adoption for just $35. The event is free and open to the public.

The shelter will be open from 12 to 6 p.m. Pet adoption and visitation is open until 5:30 p.m. All animals are adoption-ready, eager to move into their forever home. Adoption fees are reduced thanks to a generous donation from Petco Love, formerly the Petco Foundation.

Those planning to adopt, should bring a collar, leash or pet carrier to safely transport their new pet home.
