Residents Invited to Participate in Online Survey; Virtual Community Meeting; Telephone Town Hall

(Tuesday, March 2, 2021) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren kicked off the City’s 2021-22 fiscal year budget planning process today, announcing three opportunities for public input: an online survey, a virtual community update and a telephone town hall meeting. The City is facing a remaining all funds gap of $31.4 million to close in the upcoming fiscal year.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unprecedented strains on the City’s budget and we’ve had to make a number of difficult decisions to do more with less,” Mayor Warren said. “I’m calling on New York State to provide us with the support that our residents deserve so that we can recover from the pandemic and address some of our historic inequities.”

Mayor Warren and Chris Wagner, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, are seeking public input to help them prepare the City’s upcoming budget. Residents can participate in one or all of the following events.

The Mayor will submit her 2021-22 fiscal budget proposal to City Council by May 15.
