Bureau of Buildings and Parks

  What We Do

Rowe-Mitch-2015 The Bureau of Buildings and Parks is responsible for the planning and maintenance of the City's buildings and open spaces.

Bureau Organization

The Building Services divisions of Building Operations, Construction and Repair and Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning maintain and repair all City-owned buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, masonry and electrical systems, as well as serving the Downtown District. Building Services has a green mission, as well: it conducts the City's energy conservation program by monitoring energy consumption and implementing cost saving steps.

The Forestry and Parks Operations divisions maintain City parks, green spaces and the urban forest.

The Division of Cemeteries operates Rochester's two remarkable, municipal cemeteries—Mount Hope and Riverside.
