Broad St. (Broad St Bridge to South Ave) This work is part of the Rundel Library Structural Improvements Phase IV Project. Charles Carroll Plaza/Sister Cities Bridge This project consists of the construction of a new pedestrian access connection from the upper level of the Charles Carroll Park Plaza to the existing Sister Cities Bridge and improvements to the lower walkway along the Genesee River.
Updated 5/20/22:  Contractor has begun work on the plaza and sister cities bridge.  Contractor work zone includes the walkway along the Genesee River from Main St to Andrews St.  Access to this area will be restricted until at least winter 2023.  Sidewalk on the south side of Andrews St is closed from State St to St Paul Blvd due to this project.
Crane Hogan Structural Services, Ferrauilo Plubming and Invictus Electrical Fall 2023 Occasional lane closures and parking restrictions on adjacent streets.

East Main St (North Goodman St to Culver Rd) Work involves: full depth reconstruction of the existing roadway; water main; storm sewers; curb, pavement; sidewalk; signals; lighting; signing; marking; landscaping; and other streetscape enhancements. Updated 5/20/22:  Contractor is beginning boxout and reconstruction of the westbound lane of the roadway.  Uneven pavement will be present during boxout.

Elmwood Avenue (Mt Hope Ave to South Ave) Work involves: full depth reconstruction of Elmwood Avenue, from Mt. Hope Ave to South Ave, including new water main, drainage structures, curb, pavement, sidewalks, signals, lighting, signing, marking, landscaping and other streetscape enhancements.  Updated 05/20/22:  Water work at Southview and Westview. Contractor to work on drainage structures as well.

Exchange St.(Ford St to S. Plymouth Ave)
This work is part of the West River Wall Improvements Phase I
Updated 4/25/22: River trail closed from Fitzhugh Place to S. Plymouth Ave, detour in place.   Construction is starting back up this week to complete the trail and other features across from Fitzhugh Place. 

All lanes are open on Exchange St. Northbound from Ford St to S. Plymouth Ave.  Be alert for bicycles in the roadway.

N. Goodman St. (Peck St. to Bay St. and Clifford Ave. to Norton St.) Work involves: Milling and Resurfacing of the existing roadway; storm sewers improvements; new curb; spot sidewalk replacement; lighting and signage. Main Street Streetscape & Pedestrian Wayfinding, Phase II The scope of work consists of replacement of the existing streetscape between Exchange Boulevard/State Street and South Avenue/St. Paul street. Updated 5/20/22: Sidewalk removals and replacement to continue the week of May 23, 2022.

Orange and Saxton Streets Rehabilitation Work involves: Milling and Resurfacing of the existing roadway; storm sewers improvements; new curb; spot sidewalk replacement; lighting and signage.  Updated 4/25/22:  City's contractor has started construction on Orange Street, expect delays.  Utilities are finishing their work on Saxton Street and the contractor will be starting curb and sidewalk work in May.  Villager Construction, Inc. Ridgeway Avenue (Latona Rd Mt. Read Blvd) This project consists of constructing a portion of the future Eastman Trail corridor, including 0.77 miles of 8' wide concrete trail and lane reconfiguration on 0.25 miles of roadway to include bike lanes. The construction of the concrete trail will generally require asphalt driveway apron replacement, gas valve box adjustments, mailbox replacement and signage relocation. Two landscaped bench areas will be installed along the concrete trail. The construction of bike lanes will generally require striping modifications, adjustment of drainage structure frames and replacement of grates, and removal and installation of signage. 

Also included in the project is the modification of the bridge carrying Ridgeway Avenue over Kodak Park (BIN 3211140). The intent is to widen the existing 5' wide sidewalk on the north side to 12' wide. This will require removal and replacement of bridge and adjacent roadway curb, closed drainage modifications, guide railing replacement, bridge join repair and pavement marking reconfiguration. 
Updated 05/20/22: Final sidewalk restoration to take place, miscellaneous topsoil and site clean-up. 

Extended lane shift for westbound traffic will be in place during bridge work. Expect delays.

Rochester Riverway Trail  (Downtown)    Trail closures associated with downtown ROC The Riverway Projects
Updated 3/29/22: Trail is closed between Fitzhugh Place and S. Plymouth Ave. on the west side due to the West River Wall project.  Trail detour routes pedestrians along the west side of Exchange Blvd from Ford St to Court St in both the northbound and southbound directions.
 

East side river trail is open from Ford St to Court St.

State Street (Basin St to the Inner Loop) Work involves: full depth reconstruction of the existing roadway; water main; storm sewers; curb, pavement; sidewalk; signals; lighting; signing; marking; landscaping; and other streetscape enhancements. Various Locations  This work is part of the Local Pedestrian Safety Action Plan project. This project consists of improvements to pedestrian facilities at up over 200 locations throughout the City of Rochester. These improvements include signage and wayfinding devices at intersections, enhanced crosswalk striping, Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons, raised table crosswalks and curb bumpouts.  Updated 05/20/22: Contractor not working.

Weaver Street (Remington St. to Hudson Ave.) Work involves: full depth reconstruction of the existing roadway; storm sewers improvements; new curb; pavement; spot sidewalk replacement; new lighting; signing and trees.  Updated 4/25/22: Utility work is almost complete. 

City's contractor anticipated to begin in May 2022.

Waring Road (Culver to Norton) Work involves: full depth reconstruction of the existing roadway; water main; storm sewers; curb, pavement; sidewalk; signals; lighting; signing; marking; landscaping; and bicycle facilities.  Updated 4/25/22:  Contractor is removing the old roadway and constructing new pavement in the south bound direction.  Traffic will be controlled by flaggers in the work zones during the day and two way traffic will resume during non-work hours.  Ramsey Constructors, Inc.
