RISE is the City of Rochester's Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention program, led by the Bureau of Employment Skills Training and Youth Services. RISE is a collaboration of community service agencies working together to reduce teen pregnancies and reduce STD/HIV  rates among youth within the City of Rochester.

RISE initiatives:

Comprehensive Sex and Sexuality Education (CSE): Certified health educators work with RCSD and community based agencies to provide sex education that is inclusive of self-esteem, puberty, hygiene, healthy relationships, and communication, affirmative consent, STI/HIV and unintended pregnancy prevention.

Parent/Adult Education: a 4 part series that help parents, grandparents and/or adult youth workers communicate with youth about sensitive topics such as sexual health, healthy relationships, STIs, HIV, and substance use.

SOAR Youth Leadership:  SOAR Youth Leadership is a 9 month leadership development program for youth ages 13-18 who are currently enrolled in middle/high school. SOAR provides leadership training to enroll leaders while raising their voices around reproductive health and nutrition education for youth.

The Vibez Club: serve youth age 10-13 by providing positive youth development clubs for R-Center and community based agencies. The goal of The Vibez Club is to support and enhance children and adolescents' social-emotional development and relationships and to reduce racial, ethnic, economic and geographic disparities while promoting health equity across this population.
