Durand Eastman Beach on Lake Ontario hosted over 125,000 visits in 2022! The beach, on Lakeshore Drive (map), is part of Durand Eastman Park, one of  Rochester area's four-season natural gems. The beach boasts 5,000 feet of Lake Ontario waterfront; the Park also features steep wooded slopes, valleys, scenic vistas, small lakes, spring flowering trees and wildlife including swans, turkeys, and fox; and spectacular fall foliage colors. 

Swimming is supervised by beach guards in its designated area (Lot A).  All staff are trained in lifesaving, First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Parking and Transportation

Parking is FREE

Use the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority's Google Trip Planner to get a bus to the Beach

 

Essential Rules

Never swim alone.

No beach balls or flotation devices.

Never use drugs or alcohol when swimming.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

Grills, fires, and glass containers are not allowed on the beach.

No Animals on Beach A (Swim Area) , all animals must be leashed at all times on trails.
