Do The Right Thing Scholarship Recipients

Each year, all previous Do The Right Thing Award winners that are currently high school seniors may apply for a scholarship to be applied towards the payment of their college or trade school tuition and/or expenses. A selection committee reviews all applications, and the number of winners selected each year is determined by the amount of program funding available. Since 1997 our program has award 112 recipients $114,000 in college and/or trade school scholarships!

At the May 2023 Do The Right Thing award ceremony, we announced that effective that year and until further notice, The Summit Federal Credit Union will be partnering with the Do The Right Thing awards program and pledging matching funds to support our annual Do The Right Thing Scholarship Program. To acknowledge this partnership, the scholarship will now be named the Do The Right Thing / The Summit Federal Credit Union Scholarship Program.

Winners are awarded a scholarship that is paid directly to the institution the student is attending, and may be applied towards a one-time payment towards their college or trade school tuition or expenses. Typically each winner is awarded $1,000, but with our partnership with The Summit Federal Credit Union, winners are now awarded $2,000.

Each year, any Do The Right Thing Award winner that is currently a high school senior may apply. 

Scholarship applications will be sent to students in the spring of their high school senior year. All winners must ensure a current address is on file with the Do The Right Thing office in order to receive an application.
