Grab and Go Meals During School Closures
The following R-Centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Friday to provide meals to the city’s school-age children
- Adams Street, 85 Adams St.;
- Ave D, 200 Ave. D;
- Carter St., 500 Carter St.;
- Tyshaun Cauldwell, 524 Campbell St.;
- Frederick Douglass, 990 South Ave.;
- Flint Street, 271 Flint St.;
- David Gantt, 700 North St.;
- Trenton and Pamela Jackson (Clinton-Baden), 485 N. Clinton Ave.;
- Thomas Ryan, 530 Webster Ave.
Recreation starts here
All other R-Centers are closed. Children will be serve pre-packaged breakfast, lunch and dinner meals.
The City offers an abundance of year-round social, cultural and athletic programs at its R-Centers and Community centers for youth, teens and adults.
Recreation programs include year-round swimming, free summer breakfast and lunch, school-year dinners, a Youth Council, homework help and hundreds of seasonal events. Facilities boast indoor and outdoor basketball courts, football/soccer fields, tennis courts, game rooms, gyms, meeting rooms, playgrounds and much more. Many of these centers are available for rental throughout the year.
