Rental of City Equipment for Special Events

Events eligible to rent/use City-owned equipment must meet the following two parameters:
  1. Take place on City-owned public property. Due to liability reasons, the City will not deliver or provide these items for use on private property.
  2. Have applied for a special event permit[1] from the Office of Special Events (the special event permit process ensures the applicants have already either provided the City with the proper proof of insurance or agreed to replace any items that are damaged or stolen)
Equipment that the City IS ABLE to rent/provide to events include:
  • Barricades
  • Bike racks
  • Cardboard boxes and bags for garbage
  • Toters for garbage or recycling
  • Show wagon (if labor is available as this requires staffing for the duration of an event)
Equipment that the City IS UNABLE to rent/provide to events include:
  • Port a johns from the City’s vendor (City does not own any port a johns)
  • Generators
  • Tables 
  • Chairs
  • Tents
  • Cones/Barrels
  • Grills
  • A-frame signs
  • Podium and portable sound
  • Water hookup and usage
